Having established itself as a major player in the Canadian literary scene, Frontenac House required a Web presence that would not only show off its authors, but would also inform audiences of new releases, readings, and poetry-friendly bookstores. The site also needed to be professional, visually pleasing, and easily maintainable. We designed a site that not only met these requirements but delighted both Frontenac House and its authors, becoming a major promotional hub for the publisher.

I love the blogs as a way of profiling the authors in a continuously updated way. In one instance the attention that one poet has received for his work goes way beyond what he was getting from his book alone. I find the author and book pages are extrememly useful in our promotion work. For example, I’m able to send the url to possible reviewers or interviewers. I also print out these pages for competition submissions. I like the way the authors can contact Shadow Box directly to update the events pages. Some authors have told me that the website was a deciding factor in choosing us as a place to submit their work.~ Rose Scollard
